UMMMI.’s latest book for Romantic Press, I’m Not An Angry Monster is a work which combines text and photographs aiming to bear the soul of an individual. This book works like an annotated diary with text corresponding to each image. The work falls somewhere between fact and fiction / documentary and fantasy, but each element has been created from a place of necessity. The creation of this book, which fits neatly into her ideas working as a video artist, is a way for UMMMI. to accept her life but also twisting it at the same time into something new.

映像作家のUMMMI.による写真とテキスト集。2014年から2015年に撮った写真それぞれにコメンタリー形式でテキストが付いている。すべてのテキストは写真に呼応してたり、していなかったり、真実だったり嘘だったりする。イメージとテキストの組み合わせほど、自分を正直にさらけ出してしまうメディアは少ない。それゆえに、実際にUMMMI.が撮った写真に彼女自らのテキストを加え、自分をある種完全にさらけ出すことで、真実と虚構を混ぜこぜにする試み。
